Spooky Skeleton Cat Dolls

A new pattern test today!

Two spooky skeleton cat dolls are fresh in the blacklilypie etsy shop today. 

 These dolls are a slight variation on my Soft Skeleton Doll that I have been making for a few years.

 

The green eyed one has a green spatter all over him, on the back as well. 

Sometimes pattern tests come out with a lot of little quirks that have to be ironed out. I mean, that is why you do a test...but once in a while a doll comes out perfectly, exactly how you wanted it to on the first try. Even though I started with my older skeleton pattern, I still drew this one out in full in Adobe Illustrator.

I think I might do a few more colour variations of this doll. I like how the spatter pattern makes the black and green one feel special. A halloween themed one? White cat body with pink bones?

Yes, its here!

So my personal website is up after being down for months and months. Its sat unfinished, as I put off making graphics. And even though its still a bit bare, its up and its functioning!

Its going to grow. I might add a shop to it in the future, but right now its just a hub to my Etsy shop and blog, and an online portfolio.

The Batcat mini-site is going to be way more fun to make (That is what the Batcat link is all about) so now I can get started on that. yay!

But that can wait because I am making up a TON of stuffy skeletons!!

My early morning shot of the skeletons lined up and waiting to be stuffed and appliqued. I am making some baby safe ones this time too. But for the others, I have to wait on my eyes from Australia, so the hoard will remain eyeless until later this week. I have other colours too, but I will save those for another day.

The little corner of the studio where I often crouch. It looks so full of stuff, and it is. Its actually pretty neat, no Diet Pepsi cans or cats or teetering piles of books and paper like usual. I must be slipping.

Alright, I am starting to blankly stare at the blogger window with dead eyes, so that is when I know its time to end this post. Coffee then skeletons.

Black Friday

Ending up on the front page on Black Friday is pretty awesome...
Especially among some other really fantastic black and white goodies! Check out that mug! I am going to resist going on about how every Friday is black Friday for me (Haw haw!) No, they were wrong, I am NOT going to grow out of it!

I wanted to make sure to post a picture of him so he isn't lost and forgotten. I am just really happy with how he turned out. Awwww.

Hello Skeleton!

New in the shop today!

This is my first two colour printed bag. White first then black over top. I think it came out fantastic! I decided against registration marks, as I don't want perfect prints. The whole reason I love stamping as opposed to silkscreen is that each little skeleton has this unique, worn and interesting texture.

I am working on a few other two colour prints now. I have big plans...
